Jesus Forgives Sin
Mark 2:5-7

The men helped their friend who could not walk. They brought him to Jesus.

⁵ Jesus saw their faith. So he said to the man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” ⁶ Some teachers of the law were sitting there. They were thinking, ⁷ ”Why is this fellow talking like that? He’s saying a very evil thing! Only God can forgive sins!”

Sin is anything you think, say or do that does not please God. This man and his friends had sinned. But Jesus saw that they had faith. They believed in Him. The teachers did not believe in Jesus. They did not believe He has power to forgive sin.

Think!

Only Jesus can forgive sin. He is God the Son. He has never sinned. He died on the cross to take the punishment for sin and came alive again. If you have never believed in Jesus as your Savior, you can today!

If you have already believed in Jesus, thank Him that your sin is forgiven!

Dear God, thank You for sending Jesus to forgive my sin! Help me bring my friends to Him. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
