Jesus Speaks
Mark 4:37-39

Jesus and His friend were in a boat.

³⁷ A wild storm came up. Waves crashed over the boat. It was about to sink. ³⁸ Jesus was in the back, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him up. They said, “Teacher! Don’t you care if we drown?” ³⁹ He got up and ordered the wind to stop. He said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down. And it was completely calm.

Think!

If you told a storm to be quiet, would it obey? No! Only Jesus has power over storms. He is God the Creator. He is allpowerful.

Jesus can calm storms. He can calm you too! Talk to Him when you are afraid. He loves you. He may not calm your storm right away. But He will help you be calm inside. His Word says He will give you “perfect peace” (Isaiah 26:3).

Dear God, You are all-powerful and You love me. Help me remember this when I am afraid. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
