36 They left the crowd behind. And they took him [Jesus] along in a boat, just as he was. There were also other boats with him. 37 A wild storm came up. Waves crashed over the boat. It was about to sink. 38 Jesus was in the back, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him up. They said, “Teacher! Don’t you care if we drown?”
Think!
When hard things happen, it is normal to feel afraid. What do you do when you are afraid? Sometimes it helps to talk to somebody. You can tell your parent or teacher or some other adult you trust.
You can always talk to God when you are afraid. Tell Him what is making you afraid. Ask Him to help you. The Bible says, “When I called out to you [God], you answered me. You made me strong and brave” (Psalm 138:3).
You can pray like this:
Dear God, thank You that You are always with me. When I am afraid I will talk to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
