Life on the street
Many nights Marlie had to go to sleep hungry or even with a stomach ache because he found nothing to eat or only spoilt leftovers. He also suffered from severe thirst because he rarely found anything to drink.
He was also completely defenceless against the weather. In winter to the ice and snow, in summer to the intense heat of Greece and in autumn and winter to the freezing rain and Mediterranean winds.
