18: Joy through prayer

Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete! John 16:24

Imagine you were swallowed alive by a giant sea creature in the sea and had to spend several days in its stomach. How would you feel? What would you do?

Jonah spent three days and three nights in the belly of a fish. From the belly of the fish he prayed and said: “In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry." Jonah 2:2

The longer Jonah prayed, the better he felt and the sicker the fish became. Finally, the fish spat Jonah ashore. This is what prayer does: it moves God to act, delivers us and leads us to the joy and praise of God.
