We learn from God's word

From Romans Chapter 1, Verse 25

Satan has drawn many people who are wondering about their future into occult, i.e. hidden, mysterious practices. People hope to receive supernatural knowledge and power, but this knowledge and power do not come from God. They come from Satan, who wants to deceive people into serving and worshipping him.

God's Word tells us to stay away from occult practices. They are an abomination to God. (Deuteronomy 18:10-13).
