Marlies' story - Part 2

At a new place

We learn from God's word

Romans chapter 1

What will happen in the future? To find out, some people turn to a fortune teller, sometimes also called a ‘’psychic‘’ or ‘’clairvoyant‘’. Fortune tellers claim to know the future. Most of them only make guesses. Sometimes their guesses are correct and sometimes they are not.

However, some fortune tellers are not only skilful at guessing. There are some who listen to Satan and his demons (= Satan's helpers). God's Word tells how a man named Paul met a fortune teller. She was a slave and made her masters a lot of money through her fortune-telling. She did not simply make guesses. She was controlled by a demon. The Bible says that Paul, who proclaimed God's word, commanded the demon to leave her. When the demon that dwelled in her had left her, the woman could no longer see into the future. Satan's power over her was broken (Acts 16:16-18).

If you listen to fortune tellers, "you have twisted God's truth" and "believed your own lie". Satan wants to keep you from trusting God about your future. Maybe you think that fortune-telling is just a fun game. Listening to fortune tellers and following their instructions can put you in great danger. Don't let yourself be deceived by Satan's lies!

When it comes to your future, trust only God and his word!
